Valentine’s Day Dinner 2009

On Valentine’s night St John’s were treated by the young people to a night of romantic entertainment. Smart well dressed young men welcomed us at the door and directed us downstairs for light drinks. We then made our way into church where there was subdued lighting and music by Emma singing and Ian playing his guitar. The tables were set out beautifully.

Alastair said grace and then we had a very tasty meal cooked by chef Daniel and his wife Jane who worked very hard all day. During the meal we enjoyed background music of love songs played by Matthew and the meal was served by 13 young waiters and waitresses under the watchful eye of Alastair. All this took place under the expert tuition of Derek Horner who had worked hard all day at church and for many weeks planning and organising. A raffle took place and even the lovely table arrangements (supplied by Pat) were raffled. Many thanks go to all the young people, Derek, the cooks, the musicians and all the helpers (not forgetting Carol and Sheila in the kitchen) for a wonderful evening.
