The theme for Messy Church this month was “Families”.  Jim showed photos of several generations of his family and explained how each genration learnd and took something from the previous generation. The Bible has many examples of people learning from earlier generations of their family. Also there are times when people who are not blood members of the family are brought into the family and live as members of the family. So family can be expressed in many ways, including the family of the church.

So in the craft activities the young people had the chance to create their own photo of a family of their choice – parents and siblings or friends. The photos were taken and inserted into decorated frames that they had made. Also there was a quiz in which you had to match pictures of a parent and their offspring – harder than you think! Some made trinket boxes in which to keep things they wanted to remember. The older children worked with Chris on a puppet show for the act of worship.
